What is the best thing about your job?
The best thing about my job as a business developer is that the job gives me the great responsibility and independently operating client process from first meeting to a signed agreement. It involves diverse tasks, much customer contact and opportunity to be creative in order to suggest the customer the best solution.

What qualities are important to keep in your profession?
It is important to be confident and forward when you meet new potential customers. Creativity is important when chips on new business concepts and organizational skills are a matter of course to work on structural performance.

How do you see career opportunities within Dalkia?
Career opportunities are good in a large company as Dalkia and its parent company, Veolia. During my three years on Dalkia I switched from working as an International Coordinator to Business developer and I have, of course, expectations on continue to evolve and that the company promotes good and competent staff!

I was MD of a small consultancy company, the assignment was successful and I was offered the chance of implementing the plan in the position of Business Development Manager. I couldn't turn that down."

What do you do as Business Development Manager?
"I travel a lot to meet current and potential customers. Our business deals are extensive, with long sales cycles. The process from initial meeting to a signed contract takes from six months to several years. It's very exciting and enjoyable to present arguments for a product that I myself have total belief in."

What is it that makes your work interesting and challenging?
"Dalkia is an expanding company in an expanding industry. There's an entrepreneurial spirit, the atmosphere's unpretentious and informal, while at the same time we have very ambitious targets. It's incredibly challenging to have a job in which my work and the results have a genuine effect on the company's development. All of the customer partnerships are created one by one on the basis of the customer's individual circumstances, which creates tremendous scope for creativity and commercial expertise in the areas of finance, technology and law. It's inspiring to be able to work in a future-oriented, proactive environment with competent colleagues."
