In a district heating system, a central plant produces hot water and steam (or chilled water if the system delivers cooling), and delivers it to a group of buildings or facilities via an underground pipeline network.
An alternative to renewable energy sources can be the production of heat using biomass, geothermal power, household waste incineration and waste heat from industrial facilities.
Dalkia - Veolia Energy manages 700 district heating or cooling systems worldwide, particularly in France, the UK, Italy, Germany, Central and Eastern Europe and the Baltic States. In Sweden we manage district heating systems primarily in Central Sweden.
With a broad portfolio of services available, we advise customers and tailor our solutions to their individual challenges and needs.
We apply a vast range of skills and experience in the field of energy to manage our customers' steam, cooling, compressed air, vacuum and heating plants. Our maintenance solutions comprise engineering, electrical systems, automation, mechanical services, boiler services and installation services.
The solutions are applicable both within industry in general, but also as "Färdig värme" solutions not only to industry, but also to users such as municipalities and private property owners.
We use our international expertise to help our customers to analyse energy production processes, boost productivity and efficiency, and to service and maintain this production equipment.
We work in partnership with customers to identify customised solutions to their strategic challenges, adapting to their constantly evolving needs.
We will routinely have teams working closely with the customer onsite, so that our technicians can easily adapt to changes at the customer. These close customer relationships and a defined plan help to drive continuous improvements in results.
